Tonight, a friend of mine and I tried Olazzo, the Italian restaurant/martini bar on Thayer and Georgia.
Every time I walked past it at night, it usually looks pretty quiet, but tonight, when we went in, we were pleasantly surprised by how busy the place was and that it had a medium size back room. We both ordered several types of martinis and tried a couple entries. The food was good. I was happy that the ravioli was actually stuffed and not too "pasta-y". In addition, the vodka cream sauce was delicious.
As for martinis, I tried the bada-bing and the Italian surfer. Both were good, sweet and strong. :) I prefered the bada-bing, probably because it was not as sweet and went well with dinner.
Finally, I found out that Tuesday's are $5 martini nights...so if anyone wants to go, let me know. :)

Silver Spring Dinner Club-the beginning
I guess if this idea is to become a reality, I had to start somewhere...and here is as good of a place as any...
As the description about the blog indicates, I'm trying to start a Silver Spring Dinner Club. Nothing formal or fancy, just a group of people who are interested in checking out the restaurants around Silver Spring. I figured that a blog would be a good way to list the restaurants people are interested in going to, where we've gone and perhaps what we thought about the place. (Plus, it was the cheapest and the least intrusive.)
Please feel free to invite others to both dinner and to contribute to the blog. (Currently, I'm the only one who can post entries. Any one can post comments to my entries, and if you want to be a contributor, please let me know and I'll add you to the admin list.)
Bon Appetit.
